Year three: when things finally clicked
Something quietly changed in year three. The lectures stopped feeling like a foreign language. We were the ones explaining concepts to younger students in the corridor — and most of the time, we actually got it right.
This was the year of mini-projects that almost worked, of industrial visits where we asked sharper questions than we used to, and of late-night debugging sessions that ended with someone finally yelling "YES" at their laptop at 3am.
We also started taking ourselves seriously as engineers. Internship applications went out. CVs got rewritten over and over. Some of us built things that other people actually used. The class group chat shifted from "is this assignment due tomorrow?" to "check this out, what do you think?" It felt like we were becoming the version of ourselves we came to FET to find.
